Saturday song of the day

Red Line Train by the Rhodes Tavern Troubadours

Gonna go local for a day or two. This is a song by DC band the Rhodes Tavern Troubadours. I've never seen them live although I believe that their bass player was the lead singer for the Slickee Boys whom I have seen. This song celebrates the "missed connection" ads in the Washington City Paper. These are the wishful longings of lonely guy subway riders along the lines of "Orange line to New Carollton March 20, you beautiful woman in short skirt. Me, non-descript guy reading the Post. You asked to borrow Style section and smiled. Lets have coffee. call 555-1111"
The entire album has many local references including to my home county (Prince Georges, MD). Several red line subway stops are mentioned in the song and all are in fact on the red line.
