In honor of opening day of the Orioles season,
I didn't become an O's fan until 1989, so I missed the glory years that he's singing about. Its cool that a rock singer would know how many times that Earl Weaver got kicked out of a game. The song also includes that greatest baseball quote ever: When religious player Pat Kelly asked Weaver "Don't you want to walk with the Lord?", Weaver responded, "I'd rather walk with the bases loaded".
