My trip to the ballpark

I've been to Camden Yards for Orioles games many times before. But Saturday it was my daughter's birthday and I took the camera. You may have noticed that I added a link to the DC Sports Bog blog written by Dan Steinberg of the Washington Post. Its one of the best sports blogs out there. Real behind the scenes access with a great sense of humor. Its excellent even if you're not a sports fan. So when I arrived at the ballpark with camera in hand, I decided to approach the game like Dan Steinberg would. Herewith, my photo essay of the Orioles vs. White Sox game of July 14:

Only one woman on the grounds crew and she gets to drive the tractor? Is is because she's cute?

Turns out, she's a supervisor. She's the leader on the hose as well.

My wife's favorite ballpark snack and soon to be my daughter's: Uncle Teddy's soft pretzels.

A little bit of trivia that everyone should know:

It was Latino night at the ballpark and conveniently the starting pitchers were named Daniel Cabrera and Javier Vasquez. This is actually a pretty common occurence so was just a happy coincidence rather than anything planned.

Time for a walk on the concourse

Uncle Teddy's

Evidence of the once proud heritage of the Baltimore Orioles.

Despite what the sign says, this is the first time I've ever noticed this concession stand.

Daniel Cabrera

Tough start for the home team.

A good time was had by all! Oh yeah, the game: Orioles 7, White Sox 6 in 10 innings.
