Sadly, at my age and my advanced level of cynicism, I rarely feel anticipation anymore. Dread still exists for me (got a dentist appointment next week and next time I get a physical the doctor's going to suggest a colonoscopy) but when the hint of anticipation reaches my brain, my mind tells that hint "Don't get your hopes up". Ah well, I've always loved this song, and happily there have been many moments in my adult life where I do take a second and say, "these are the good old days". Life's good!
